This site has no forms, no accounts, and no database. It does not ask you for anything and it has nowhere to put it if you offered.

What is not collected

• No name, email address, postal address, or phone number.
• No account, login, or profile.
• No contact form, newsletter signup, or chat widget.
• No advertising trackers and no ad network pixels.
• Nothing is sold or shared with data brokers, because nothing is collected to sell.

Analytics

With your consent, this site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which guides people actually read. That is the only measurement on the site, and it is used to decide what to write next.

Nothing analytics-related loads until you accept. If you decline, or if you simply ignore the banner, the analytics script is never requested and no analytics cookie is set. Declining costs you nothing: the site works identically either way.

When it does run, it collects the ordinary things: which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, what kind of device and browser, and which site or search referred you. IP addresses are anonymized. It is not used to identify you as a person, and this site does not attempt to.

Your choice is stored in your own browser. Clearing your browser storage for this site resets it and you will be asked again.

Hosting

The site is served as static files by Netlify, which like any web host records ordinary request logs, including IP addresses, in order to serve pages and defend against abuse. That is Netlify's processing rather than ours, and it happens for every visitor regardless of the analytics choice above.

Links to other sites

Some pages link to other sites, such as a state insurance regulator. Those sites have their own privacy practices and this page does not cover them.

Children

This site is written for homeowners and renters and is not directed at children. Nothing here asks anyone their age, and the analytics described above is not used to identify any visitor.

Changes

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Meaningful changes will not be made quietly.
